Shalini Naidu

Namaste

I  am Ms  Shalini Naidu. I am a classroom teacher for Room 23.

I am an experienced teacher with 22 years of  teaching at a range of schools in New Zealand and internationally. This is my first year of teaching at Papatoetoe Intermediate school. I have completed my Bachelor of Education in Biology, Graduate Diploma in ECE and Post Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management.

Your vision and hopes for our school/ your class
My vision is to create a collaborative learning environment where students learn from and inspire from one another as they discover and explore new ideas in a safe, welcoming classroom environment. Using my teaching skills and strategies, I would like to raise students with their thinking and learning skills that they require in order to continue to learn well after they have left my classroom. My vision is to create the leaders of tomorrow with the skills required to succeed.

My personal goal is to grow my teacher practice and passion. I believe “ Learn as if you were to live forever”- Mahatma Gandhi. I would like to keep learning new teaching methods which will provide better instructions to students and make the curriculum more exciting.

A little Bit about me
I am originally from Fiji and migrated to New Zealand with my family in 2007. I have two boys and my 19 year old was a student here at papatoetoe Intermediate in 2016. I love sports and exploring new tracks  for hiking .
