I am the Hard Materials Technology teacher in the specialist subjects department. I also have a passion for teaching Mathematics.
A little about me and my time at Papatoetoe Intermediate School:
I am an experienced teacher, with over 35 years of teaching experience at various levels in NZ schools and internationally. For the past 25 years I have been teaching mainly in South Auckland. While teaching, I have shouldered a number of responsibilities in NZ schools. I have been on the management team as a senior teacher and syndicate leader and staff rep on the school Board of Trustees.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the University of New England in Australia and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from AUT in New Zealand. I also hold a certificate to teach Hard Materials Technology (Industrial Arts) and a Diploma in Public Relations.
I am originally from Fiji and have been at Papatoetoe Intermediate for the past 4 years.
My vision and hopes for our school/my class:
While we provide a well balanced education programme at our school, not all students can be an academic. So my hope is that some students would pick up and extend their hard materials knowledge and excel in the trade industry in NZ.
A bit more about me:
I have been very sporty all my life and have not only played but also managed sports organisations. I have been the Chief Administrative Officer of the national soccer association of Fiji. I also take keen interest in martial arts.
