Papatoetoe Intermediate School is a large and dynamic intermediate school, delivering an innovative, specialised learning programme. We have highly committed staff who are effectively delivering our vision of ‘creating and pursuing opportunities – capable staff, empowering students’. The school has gone through successful transformation in the past fifteen years in many areas, resulting in this exciting vision, and more recently in an innovative teaching and learning philosophy, delivered within a specialised curriculum model. Our community has high expectations, and we have an involved and committed board who want us to be better than we were yesterday!

We seek a leader who is:

• capable of maintaining the successful momentum established, but also able to introduce relevant and beneficial new initiatives that capitalise on our current successful practice and direction
• ‘intermediate school teaching or leadership’ experienced, with some knowledge and/or experience working within a specialised teaching model
• a champion of culturally responsive practice, honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and uplift Māori ākonga through authentic proactive leadership
• committed to delivering a well-rounded holistic education that provides all students with authentic and challenging learning experiences
• committed to maintaining our energised, positive culture
• highly organised, energetic and positive; and who loves fun, has a sense of humour and who enjoys working with a strong, dynamic team
• inspired by and involved with, and visible to our enthusiastic and articulate kids.
