MINUTES OF THE PAPATOETOE INTERMEDIATE BOARD of TRUSTEES MEETING
Monday 27th June 2022 6.00 p.m. in the Principal’s Office

Present

Devices – All members present received their devices to take away with them, charge up and become familiar with.
–  Barb will have device agreements ready for Members to sign at the July Meeting.
–  Barb to follow up with Isometrics in regard to Darryl and Kirsty’s address

Matters arising

  • Neighbourly – for Board Elections
    • See Bernardine Vester regarding advertising
      • Notice received from Bernardine on Tuesday 27th June
      • On School Website, Facebook, School Newsletter, School Links. Courier and Neighbourly.

Finance

  • Welcome Lee-Anne [Financial Manager]
    • Pauline introduced Lee-Anne to the Board
      • Lee-Anne is busy with budgets
      • Genesis Gas credit of $6700.00 due to estimates and not actuals.
      • Overspend on relievers budget due to staff sicknesses
      • Financial timeline in place now
        • Shared with the Leadership Team

Property

  • New Admin building has started but has ground to a halt due to asbestos.
    • Removal of this starts on Monday evening of the 26th June from 9.00 p.m. to 4.00 a.m.
    • Will work on this all week
      • This is all an additional cost to the original costing
    • Cyclical maintenance – cost for painting the school/washing/guttering clearing/drain cleaning/wet and forgetting the decks etc. Anything that is general wear and tear and maintenance rather that replacing.

Principal’s Report

  • Shared with the Board in the Board Folder
    • Pandemic updates
    • 3 Way conferences coming up – no parents on site while school is in session
      • Conferences after school closes at 3.00 p.m.
      • Tuesday 5th, Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th
    • Wearable Arts 2 nights next week – half the school at a time – Team Rehua Wednesday 6th July and Team Puanga Thursday 7th July – 6.00 – 7.00 p.m.
    • Preparation for Camp
      • We have sponsors who can help sponsor students to go that are having trouble financially
      • If 2 children in family are going to the school can help financially if need be.
        • Maybe we could make a Camp Scholarship available and students apply for them
      • Gareth has had an invitation to take students on a Sports Camp – children will only be charged $25.00 per head due to sponsorship. Board happy to help fund this if students need help
      • Masks – decision re wearing of these In term 3 will be announced to staff later next week.
        • Staff still wearing them inside.
        • Majority of students are wearing masks in class.
      • 56 students are not attending regularly – attendance rates much higher than the local schools – 84 – 85% attendance
      • Waitangi Trip Booked for 24th and 25th January 2023
      • Annual Plan for July meeting
      • RLTB Mileage reimbursements – Collective Agreement .62 cents per kilometre.
        • Board voted to ‘Increase the kilometre reimbursement of mileage from .62 to .79 in keeping with IRD recommendation, as of 1st July 2022. To review this on 31st March 2023”.
