Camp Gear List – Ngaruawahia 2022 

Recommended – Antihistamine medication/cream if allergic to bee stings or suffer from hay fever – this should have been noted on their medical form too. 

Students are not to bring the following – 

ELECTRONIC DEVICES SUCH AS CELLPHONES / i-PADs / Tablets / MUSIC Players/Speakers etc = TECHNOLOGY FREE CAMP 

Remember: We strongly recommend that old clothes to be worn for the day activities please, Please also ask that items are clearly named – this will reduce lost property! 

There is a high likelihood that they will get muddy/dirty/wet etc. 

Appropriate clothing for cold, especially morning and evening/night time and wet days is required. 

Note: There is NO CANTEEN, students do not need to bring any money with them. 

Students are not permitted to take any soft or energy drinks to camp – all food and drink is catered for at the camp. 

Gear List: Recommended

1 Pack or suitcase – all items must be clearly named and packed into a suitcase/bag
1 Pillow
1 Sleeping Bag or bottom sheet / duvet 

1 Blanket/Duvet (If sleeping bag is not warm enough)

1 Old sheet to cover the mattress
3 Towels – 1 for water activities – hydroslide, kayaking, raft building, mudslide etc – 2 for showers
Personal Toiletries – face cloth/ hair brush/ comb/ toothpaste/ toothbrush/ shampoo/ soap or shower gel/ deodorant (NO SPRAY PLEASE) / sunscreen / sanitiser / lip balm etc)
4 Plastic Bags for wet/dirty gear
1 Black Rubbish bag (large)
1 PJ’s/sleepwear
2 Swimwear for kayaking, mudslide, pool, hydroslide
6 Changes of underwear and socks
2 Footwear suitable for walking
1 Gumboots (could be quite muddy) – NOT COMPULSORY 

2 – 4 Track pants/longs 

2 – 4 Sweatshirts/jumpers 

2 – 4 Shorts – suitable for being active in, especially climbing 

6 T-shirts/shirts (no short tops) 

1 – 2 Jacket/parka/raincoat (waterproof)

1 Warm jacket for evenings 

2-4 Pegs 

1 Cap/hat/beanie 

1 Box of tissues 

1 Insect repellent

1 Torch – (not a phone light) and students are responsible for this
1 DAY Pack (school bag/backpack with a packed lunch for Day 1, including a water bottle)
Medication – clearly named and labeled with dose instructions – will be kept with the First Aid officer (will be kept by students unless other arrangements have been made with the school)
OPTIONAL
Camera – not your phone camera! (you are responsible for this)
