COVID communication with community : 13th February 2022

The health and wellbeing of our children, staff and community is a top priority.  You may have heard there’s another confirmed COVID-19 case in our community.

Late this afternoon we were informed of a confirmed case of COVID-19  in our community.  The student last attended Papatoetoe Intermediate on Wednesday 9th February 2022.

If you have not been contacted by the school or the Ministry of Health, your child can still come to school.

We have already identified and made contact with those identified as CLOSE contacts to this particular case.

We what are doing:

  • Providing those students required to isolate with distance learning activities

  • We will continue to give you any relevant updates

  • We will remain open while we work through the list of contacts

What you need to do:

  • You and your whānau should watch for symptoms

  • If any develop, get tested immediately

  • Then, stay at home until you receive the result

  • If your whānau hasn’t been vaccinated, please do so as soon as possible. You can book on-line at bookmyvaccine.nz or by calling 0800 28 29 26. It’s free.

We understand that these are difficult times and we will continue to keep you updated with information as soon as we have it available.

We are continuing to work with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health to ensure that appropriate guidelines, processes and measures are put in place.
