Kia Ora, I am the classroom teacher for Room 15. I am a P.E teacher and I am also involved with Kapa Haka and anything Māori! I am excited to get involved in different sports coaching this year and ultimately try new things!
A little about me and my time at Papatoetoe Intermediate School:
This year will be my first year of teaching and I am beyond excited to begin my teaching journey at Papatoetoe Intermediate. I completed my final placement at the end of 2O22 at Papatoetoe Intermediate before starting here in the classroom next door at the beginning of this year. The staff, students and wider community here at Papatoetoe Intermediate have welcomed me with open arms and I am excited to be a part of this whanau.
My vision and hopes for my class/our school:
One of my biggest hopes is to support tamariki in finding themselves within their cultural identity and allowing that to guide them throughout their education and in life. Every child deserves to feel supported and to have a voice. In doing this I hope I can show them their worth, importance and how they can help guide their own success. These tamariki are our manukura o apopo (our leaders of tomorrow) and my goal is for them to see that within themselves as well.
A little more about me:
I am Māori and European. I moved to and completed my university studies while in Wellington (Te Whanganui-a-Tara) where I lived for four years. I gained a Graduate Diploma in Primary teaching. I was born and raised in Tamaki Makaurau however I consider Te Whanganui-a-Tara a home away from home too.
