I am the classroom teacher for Room 7 and also a PE and history teacher. I have a passion for teaching literacy and history. I run the weekly lunchtime club for all students across the school.
A little about me and my time at Papatoetoe Intermediate School:
This is my second year teaching at Papatoetoe Intermediate. I have really enjoyed building relationships with students across two years. Previously, I worked in early childhood education, teaching 1-2 year olds in Melbourne. I also volunteered as a teacher aide in a secondary school in Melbourne. I really enjoy teaching in New Zealand, learning about a diverse range of cultures and practicing Te Reo!
My vision and hopes for our school/my class:
I encourage my students to be the best they can be. My goal is for them to learn work ethic and respect ahead of college and future jobs! It’s okay to make mistakes, but it’s about how the student takes responsibility for them and grows from it in the process. My vision is that they will embrace the challenge and take up all the opportunities they can!
A bit more about me:
I have an interest in hiking and sports! I recently completed the Abel Tasman track. Since moving to New Zealand, I have converted over to rugby and I’m a loyal warriors and blues fan!
