Mr Leo
What I do at Papatoetoe Intermediate School
I support students with their learning, help them when things feel hard, and encourage them to do their best at school
A little about me and my time at Papatoetoe Intermediate School
My name is Leo Va’ava’ai, and I work as a support teacher and mentor at the school. During my time here, I have supported students with their learning, wellbeing, and confidence, while building positive relationships with students and families. It has been a privilege to be part of this school community.
My vision and hopes for Papatoetoe Intermediate School
My vision for our school/class is a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, confident, and encouraged to succeed. I hope our students continue to grow in confidence, respect, and leadership, and are supported to reach their full potential both in learning and in life.
A bit more about me
Outside of school, I am a proud family man and father, and my family is a big part of who I am. I value my Pasifika culture and believe in the importance of community, faith, and service. I am also passionate about sports, particularly volleyball, and enjoy supporting youth through leadership, teamwork, and positive role modelling. Building strong connections with young people and helping them grow is something I truly enjoy.
