I originally come from Poland but have lived in a number of countries over the years. I am delighted to begin my teaching career here, at Papatoetoe Intermediate. Despite being new to teaching, I have a wealth of knowledge (including a number of languages) and life experiences to share with my students. Literacy (especially grammar!) and social sciences are my key areas of expertise.
My vision and hopes for my class / our school:
I believe in the power of education and, as a new teacher, I am determined to ‘ignite the spark’ in each and every one of my ākonga. I hope to foster an enduring, passionate and caring community of learners to ensure a better future for us all, in Aotearoa and beyond.
My teaching motto is the following quote by W B Yates:
‘Education is not the filling of a bucket but the lighting of a fire’.
A little more about me:
I have a wonderful husband, two beautiful children and two cheeky cats.
Some of my many interests include: travelling, learning languages, cooking, reading and gardening.
Fun fact: Prior to becoming a teacher I intended to be a criminal psychologist and hold a BSc (Hons) in Criminology and Psychology.
