Meet the Whānau Evening 2025: Making Connections

Dear Parents/ Caregivers/ Whānau

At Papatoetoe Intermediate School, we believe it takes a village to raise a child. We are committed to strengthening relationships between whānau, students and staff. This is a relaxed evening designed for everyone to meet and get to know each other. We would love for you to attend! The evening’s programme is outlined below.

  • Fun activities on the field

  • BBQ – $2 (profits will go towards EOTC Week)

  • Time to meet your child’s teacher and other staff within the teaching team

There will be set times where teaching teams will meet in the gymnasium to introduce themselves to you, as well as times available for you to have a look inside your child’s classroom.

Whānau Meet and Greet in Gym

Team Puanga (classes and Whānau groups below) 5:30pm-6:00pm

  • Waita  (Rms 14,15,16, 17, 18)                           

  • Waiti  (Rms 5,6,7,26,33)                  

  • Pōhutukawa. (Rms 3,4,30,31,32)

Team Rehua (classes and Whānau groups below) 6:05 pm-6:35pm

  • Hiwa-i-te-rangi (Rms 1a,1b,2,35,34)

  • Ururangi (Rms 19,20,21,22,24)               

  • Tupu-a-rangi (Rms 8,9,10,11,12,23)              

Some classrooms will be open for 15 minutes afterwards for you to view if you wish

Getting to know the Learner Conferences: A chance for new Parents/ Caregivers/ Whanau to meet and formally speak with teachers will happen later in this term (once children have settled in). Information will come out regarding the conferences, which are for all Year 7s and any new Year 8s.  This will be where you, your child and child’s teacher will get the chance to discuss how they are doing, and what the next steps are.
